The 21st edition of the book fair “Reading in Polynesia” will take place from November 18 to 21, 2021 at the Maison de la culture in Papeete (Tahiti). On this occasion, the Publishers Association of Tahiti and the Islands offers a major cultural event on a local and international scale, a crossroads of Oceanian literature. It is an opportunity to bring together writers from the great Pacific: from New Caledonia, Australia, Vanuatu, Samoa, New Zealand, Hawai’i and the rest of the world. This event is part of a desire to
to introduce the youngest to the world of books, in particular through meetings between writers and school audiences driven by an ever stronger collaboration with the Reading Center (antenna of the DGEE).
Polynesian readers are thus in contact with Polynesian, Pacific and international authors, whom they meet during literary meetings, book presentations and signing sessions, with a view to regional openness and promotion of the French-speaking world. Finally, it is also a question of promoting
and the recognition of the book trade and to federate the players, while supporting the local book industry.
